How To Be A Girl

I’ve been getting lessons from my friend/hairdresser/coworker on how to be a girl, a lesson I seriously missed out on in my formative years. It all started last week with a little haircut – okay, not so little, really. It was my first serious snip in over 3 years!

R.I.P. L.C.

This weekend one of the cat’s Chris grew up with was put to rest. Her name was L.C., which stands for “Lindy’s Cat.” A little over a year ago Chris’s childhood kitty, Eddie, also passed away. This was the last photo I got to snap of L.C., napping in the front yard of the Big House...

And the winner is . . .

A big thank you to everyone who entered February’s giveaway, for the chance to win an *emera camera tote. There were so many of you gearing up for amazing travels, I wish we could give you all new camera bags! And then there’s those of you who simply want a bag to take anywhere and...

Weekend Update

Okay, I know it isn’t technically the weekend just yet, but weekends are relative. Today is like my second Sunday. Tomorrow I go back to the grind for a few days that just happen to be everyone else’s weekend. Also, after a long overdue revisit to SNL (Dana Carvey pulled me in.

Photoshop Actions Review in Shutterbug Magazine

Next time you’re at a bookstore, pick up Shutterbug’s February 2011 issue. Turn to page 36 and at the bottom, you’ll see a small blurb about my Photoshop actions! Joe Farace, author of the Digital Innovations column, contacted me back in the fall about reviewing my work for a topic about monochrome Photoshop actions and...

Prints Now Available!

I haven’t been very proactive these days when it comes to selling prints, but this week I had more than one inquiry for a print and it tickled me into action. You can now purchase prints of my work at kmillerphotographs.etsy.com!

New Actions Set for Winter

Here’s a sampler for a new set of actions, loosely scheduled for release sometime in the winter, modeled by a lovely neighborhood kitty. I know, it’s already winter! I still have a few tweaks here and there to do, and this month has already proven to be crazy busy, so I don’t want to rush...

Sick Felix

Today’s Caturday is a little less “awwww” and a little more, uh, “awww.” I regret to inform my fellow crazy cat ladies (and men!) that Felix is sick. We’re not sure what’s wrong with him but he’s got a fever and has been dry heaving / coughing up spittle for the last 24 hours.

Our New Bundle of Fluff

As I mentioned yesterday, I brought home a little sister for Felix. She is a rambunctious little love bug! Currently her favorite things to do are curl up in our laps and purr up a storm, or bat with the blind cords for what feels like hours.

Dinner 8-24-2010

Cheese tortellini from Trader Joe’s and homemade gluten-free Alfredo sauce (which is pretty pointless poured over traditional pasta, but I still made it for the sake of experimenting for future dinners). The garnish is just a leaf of basil and a few shakes of black pepper.
The Three S's

The Three S’s

Last month I got together with Stephanie, Scott and Samuel for a little family shoot in their back yard. This was the second time we’ve gotten together for family photos – the first was back in December and, I know it’s a total cliche, but I can’t believe how fast little Samuel is growing up!...

DHB @ Ella St.

I took this photo at Ella Street Social Club last month, when I saw Harlowe & The Great North Woods perform. They’re playing there again on the 22nd of this month – have a listen to some of their songs, and come join us if you’re free!
