The Making of Caturday

I try to get out and meet new cats to feature on Caturday, but winter is coming (!) and I imagine I’ll be seeing less and less furballs outside. It was pretty much hurricaning in Portland this week, so I pulled out the tripod and finished off some film in the Mamiya while Felix and Franny took a load off from their busy schedules.

The light was pretty dim towards the end — y’know, hurricane quality light — so we’ll just have to wait and see if they’re in focus or works of blart.

I know what you’re probably thinking… Kim! Why are you showing us pictures OF your Mamiya and not pictures FROM your Mamiya?! I’ve been terrible about getting my film developed these last few months, but rest assured I’m still shooting away! I currently have 3 rolls each of 35mm and medium format to get developed (including my roll of accidentally redscaled film). It’s nice when it piles up like that — the anticipation kills me, in a good way, to the point where I end up thumbing through my photo log every day, re-visiting each entry with giddiness and glee.

If all goes as planned, by the time you read this I’ll be on a bus to St. John’s to drop off my film. And who knows? I just might meet a new furry friend while I’m out there.

Happy Caturday!
