What’s In My Cupboard

Top: Raisins, Chemex filters, Chemex, Moka pot, French Press lid, glass carafe with a Starbucks straw in it.
Middle: Dry pinto beans, Nutella, PB&J bar, 2 cans smoked oysters, dried mango, an opened bag of banh pho wrapped up in a plastic bag, penne pasta, barbecue sauce, buffalo wing sauce, Ghiradelli cocoa powder, Starbucks iced VIA.
Bottom: Blender, brown rice pasta, TJ’s Pecan Praline granola, TJ’s Jalapeno Cheese Crunchies, TJ’s instant chai mix, and a WHOLE lotta tea (pictured are instant Ginger, TJ’s bedtime and my IKEA caddy of random bags).

I’m a whore for Nutella, but haven’t had it in a while.
I love photos like these. It’s fun to share a little snapshot of our lives.
I’ve been curious about Nutella. What is it, and what does it taste like?
BTW: Do you mix that Ghiradelli cocoa powder with your french press coffee? If you want great cocoa, make a run to get some of the 365 Organic Hot Cocoa mix at Whole Foods (Whole Foods whore here). It’s the best!
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/midgetontheedge] This is actually the first jar we’ve bought since we first discovered it in college. We are all too aware of its habit forming properties, so we try to stay away :P
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/mayrock] SO GOOD! That’s what! ;) It’s just a chocolate hazelnut spread. It’s really not that bad for you in terms of nutrition but it’s so creamy and easy to just put on everything in sight that it isn’t hard to abuse it. Goes great in banana smoothies, or on toast with peanut butter.
Also, I LOVE putting Ghiradelli cocoa powder in my coffee – along with some brown sugar – that’s how we used to make mochas at the first cafe job I ever had (with espresso instead of coffee, of course). I don’t use the French press anymore since we bought our Chemex, though – the sludge freaks me out. Naturally, I also wig out if there are floaties in my tea. :P
Speaking of the French Press, I won’t have my coffee any other way — radioactive coffee-ground sludge and all. When I’m not putting something in my coffee (like cocoa, brown-sugar, heaping scoops of Nutella, raw opium…) =) I like it strong and black. The press owns in that respect.
Seriously, I’d never thought of putting a small scoop of brown sugar with cocoa in coffee. I’ve got to try that.
I feel like I would shop exclusively at Trader Joe’s for the cute packaging designs alone. That box of PB&J bars is just too cute.
I can tell this is from a few days ago, because those TJ’ s crunchy snacks are gone!
I know, I’ve definitely gotten sucked in by packaging alone. For the record, though, the PB&J bar was a bit of a let down! Oh well, plenty-uh other tasty treats to be had at TJ’s. ;)
By the way, my Whole Foods doesn’t carry Nutella, but, of their choices, I picked up this stuff instead.
