Weekend Update

Okay, I know it isn’t technically the weekend just yet, but weekends are relative. Today is like my second Sunday. Tomorrow I go back to the grind for a few days that just happen to be everyone else’s weekend. Also, after a long overdue revisit to SNL (Dana Carvey pulled me in. What a great episode!), I just really wanted to title this post “Weekend Update.”
So here’s what’s been happening lately:
Monday night the James John Cafe hosted the Grande Dalles Inaugural Wine Release Party. After working with Stephanie and Scott it was exciting to finally be able to taste their wines. I went there for the Tempranillo, but came home with the Riesling. WHAT? Normally, I can’t stand white wine! Just goes to show you that the Grande Dalles really are unique in both vision and delivery.
Tuesday night Harlowe played a free show at the Holocene. If you missed it, you missed out. Non-Oregonians are in luck because come March they’ll be embarking on a two-week tour from Portand, OR to Los Angeles, CA. I only wish I could take time off work to join them and document the adventure!
I got word last night that a photo I took of the Shalants is going to be the cover of their third studio album, to be released within the next month I believe. I can’t tell you how mind blowing it was to hear this news! I love the Shalants and this is a total honor.
Okay, enough about me, here’s something for you: I’m going to be hosting some giveaways this year! Most of them will be photography related but I might try and sneak something more universal in there as well. All I’ll say for now is that my female readers won’t want to miss my first giveaway!
And that about wraps it up. I still have a ton of film to share, which I’ll be sprinkling across the blog in the next couple of weeks.
I’m K. Miller, and that’s news to me. :)
Lens: Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
