The Numbers of the Beasts

On our first trip to Guapo Comics & Coffee, Ben and I ended up buying the same thing: The Numbers of the Beast by Shawn Cheng. A beautifully illustrated 28-page mini-book that counts from 1 to 12 (that’s Cyclops to Scylla).
Thankfully it comes with varying beasts on the cover, so Ben and I were able to buy the same thing without buying the same thing. Also, apologies to Chris, because I totally wasn’t joking when I said our future child will learn how to count with this book. Apparently that’s just what the author had in mind for his daughter, as the ‘zine is dedicated to her. Awww.
A Note: As you may’ve noticed, I tried something a little different with this post and made one huge mosaic rather than inserting several images into one post. I’ve been wanting to try this method since I noticed fellow life-bloggers such as Alice and Brian using this method – all I can say is, how do you guys manage?! Although, it is nice having just one image to upload instead of a million, but it was a little grueling, especially when I decided to rearrange the order, etc. Practice makes perfect? Zoom tool is your friend? Woof…

I am pretty impressed with the minimalism in your images as well as your PS actions which I saw the examples of on your commercial site. I use mostly lightroom but I recently purchased CS5. I think this week or next, I will purchase your bundle actions. They stand out from all the crap that’s out there. I prefer simplicity and realism/film like images. You’ve got a good eye for composition and post-processing. I’m still very much in a learning phase.
hehe I think I’m just used to dealing with a bajillion layers in photoshop. and I like the convenience of uploading one picture and being done.
