Camera shy doesn’t even begin to cover it.
I was standing in Adam’s hotel room, asking him a question about the ceremony. I picked up my camera to take a few pictures of him waiting to meet his bride. Finally, he started his reply. “It’s… Uh… It’s in this… Field? And…” he stuttered. “I can’t even talk to you right now.”
Adam eventually let his guard down, and his wedding with Megan at the McCloud River Mercantile Inn in Northern California was a total blast. It was especially fun watching the shy couple transform into bombshells and party animals.
Their friends and family, though? Well, there’s no doubt that they are extroverts!
I made jokes about invoking the spirit of Kenny Powers to prepare for this wedding, but that’s exactly how I had to act in order to take control of Adam’s wild and crazy groomsmen! I’m not complaining, though. I got to make jokes and say things I would normally be terrified to say at a wedding. :)
That’s not to say the bridal party couldn’t keep up with the pace. In fact, my favorite moment of the day was watching Megan let out a flood of curses as she walked down the grassy aisle, about to become the complete center of attention.
Happy wedding, Megan & Adam! It was an honor to be by your sides and witness all the love, the laughter, and most of all — the bunhole faces.

I don’t even know what to say about those photos, Kim. Those were my reactions: so fucking great! the warmth! the processing! the expressions! timeless! See, I can’t even form sentences anymore. And also, move over and make room for Kim everyone who’s considered a top wedding photographer by PDN or whoever puts out these lists.
Jeez, Anne! Thank you so much for the kind words. I know where to go now when I need a self-esteem boost. :)
i’m so glad i’m not married yet so i can potentially hire you to shoot my wedding.
i can’t even describe what makes your shots so special; i think because there are no words, and certainly nothing else like it.
Thanks for the kind words, Cara. I’d love to shoot your future wedding! I think we’d have a great time. :)

And, holy moly, that mountain. What a magical place to get married.
That scenery is so beautiful it doesn’t even feel real. Also, I LOVE photo number 7 — it’s so perfect and totally sets the pace for the overall style, mood, and feel of the day. So perfect. :)

Yellow and grey..and oh the blue shoes! So lovely! Beautiful beautiful photos. :D
It would be embarrassing to say how many times I have looked at the photos. You are such an incredible artist/photographer and your writing is funny plus entertaining. Your candid style is uniquely Kim Miller but reminds me of that famous photo from WWII when the sailor is kissing the nurse. I cannot brag enough or thank you enough. I love your website and I am becoming a Kim Miller fanatic.
I adore how this bride styled her wedding!! And you captured it beautifully, the photos are amazing :)
Wonderful work! I love that you caught the bride kissing her mother before being given away. Lovely!
